The junior section of Bromleians began in 1979 as Bromleians Youth, founded by Sally Stoneham and Mick Rolfe. While the early years saw some success, junior football was not widely promoted through the 1980s and 1990s, and the section did not fully establish itself during that period.

Momentum returned in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Whilst not at the time part of the Bromleians family Junior Sports was founded in 1999 by Pete and Debbie Biggenden, while Bromleians Youth was reignited in 2004 under Graham Linn. Both developed in parallel, combining strong coaching with a growing appetite for junior football.

In 2010, these two strands came together in a merger masterminded by Steve Tingey, who became Junior Chairman. This marked a turning point for the club. The merger created Junior Bromleians as it is known today, laying the foundations for sustained growth and a unified approach to developing young players.

Since then, the junior section has expanded significantly, now supporting teams across all age groups from under 8s to under 18s, with hundreds of boys and girls involved. Strong links with local schools have provided vital facilities, while many coaches and managers are former players, reflecting the club’s deep-rooted community.

The club has consistently retained its FA Charter Standard Development status and continues to achieve success on the pitch, with regular appearances in cup finals. However, its greatest strength lies off the pitch.

Junior Bromleians is built on the dedication of its volunteers—coaches, managers and supporters—who make football possible each week. Their commitment creates a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for all players.

More than just a pathway into senior football, the junior section is the heart of Bromleyans. It represents the club’s spirit, strengthens its community, and secures its future for generations to come.
